So…yeah. Last week, GameStop brought word of a impending re-release of Gears of War, complete with the entire gaggle of Gears and Gears 2 related DLC from Xbox LIVE, and Microsoft wan’t yet ready to talk. Apparently.
Well, a week’s gone by, it’s time to fess up. We just received the "official" announcement on the game, and it’s basically the exact bullet points from GameStop’s website, but with the PR briefing.
In addition to confirming the new 2-disc SKU, Microsoft also points out that the standard edition of Gears that’s been out since 2006 is officially dropping to $39.99 for Xbox 360 and $29.99 for PC at all retail outlets, starting June 4th. So, here’s what those of you interested in the *new* stuff need to know: June 24th. $39.99. That is all. Oh and nope, 360 version still doesn’t get the Brumak level.
Full announcement after the jump.
