Today, Bethesda dropped the bombshell (pun intended) about 3 DLC packs and a special modding tool for Fallout 3. The first of these would be the mod tool- the Garden of Eden Creation Kit, or as it’s better known, the G.E.C.K. The G.E.C.K. will allow players to create their own quests, design their own dialog, build their own towns and modify any number of other parameters in Fallout 3.
This tool will be available to PC players for the low, low price of nothing and will hit PC’s in December. Todd Howard, director of Fallout 3, had this to say about the tools:
“We’ve always seen the original world of Fallout 3 as a foundation for even more content. Some created by us, and a lot more created by users…It’s fun to create your own character, but it can be equally fun to create your own adventures. We can’t wait to see what the community does with the G.E.C.K.”
The megaton announcement (I’m on a roll), however is after the jump.
As it’s been previously announced, Fallout 3 will have downloadable content exclusive for Xbox 360 and Windows Live. Until today, however, we really had no idea what the content would be. While no price has been given for the DLC, now know that there will be 3 DLC packs available starting in January.Â
-
Operation: Anchorage- Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe – the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders.Â
-
The Pitt- Journey to the industrial raider town called The Pitt, located in the remains of Pittsburgh. Choose your side.
-
Broken Steel- Join the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel and rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all. Continues the adventure past the main quest.
Operation Anchorage will launch in January, while the Pitt will launch in February and Broken Steel will finish off the trifecta by launching in March. Â
