New Prince of Persia announced, due May 2010

Ubisoft has just announced the next installment in their popular Prince of Persia series. The new entry, entitled The Forgotten Sands, will not be a sequel to 2008′s reboot. Instead, this will be the next adventure in the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time series with “new gameplay innovations”.

You can catch the game’s premiere trailer on Spike TV’s Video Game Awards on Saturday, December 12th at 8pm E.S.T. The Forgotten Sands is scheduled to be released in May 2010 for both consoles and handhelds. What do you know? That’s just in time for a tie-in with the upcoming movie version of the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.
