Here’s a way to use Twitter in games that is not annoying (I’m looking at you Uncharted 2). Promethium Marketing, in partnership with UK studio Grinlock, has announced the development of Tweet Defense, an iPhone tower defense game that uses your twitter stats to help hold off wave after wave of brain-hungry zombies.
Tweet Defense’s executive producer, Nelson Rodriguez explained, “We wondered what it would be like to take your social network and your activities there and turn it into a game. We ended up with a full on tower defense game that uses your friend list and your tweeting activity to impact how powerful your towers are.”
Tweet Defense will have 10 levels, 5 enemy types and 6 tower types including the unique BOOSTER tower that lets you use twitter celebrities to boost your tower stats. It will be available in February on iPhone and iPod Touch for a limited sale price of $ 0.99. To learn more, check out the official website.
