As gamers we are used to seeing map packs released for shooters and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is no different. The latest map pack eschews the usual Battlefield style by being paid content as opposed to being released free for players who redeemed a VIP code. In order to earn the price this new pack is aiming to offer much more content than is usually seen in a simple map pack.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam is being defined as a “multiplayer expansion” and in addition to four brand new maps it also offers new weapons and vehicles from the Vietnam War era. Players will fight as either a U.S. Marine or a member of the North Vietnamese Army. The four maps will be playable in the usual Battlefield game modes like Conquest and Rush. The expansion will also feature several new achievements and trophies to claim. The Vietnam expansion is arriving for PC on December 18 and on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on December 21. It will cost $14.99 or 1200 Microsoft points.
In addition to this expansion is a brand new VIP map pack being released on December 1. VIP map pack 7 will feature four new maps never before seen in Bad Company 2 including remakes of Battlefield: Bad Company classics Oasis and Harvest Day. This new map pack is available for free on PC and for console players who have redeemed VIP codes.
