It is, once again, that time of the year. The time when we take a look back at the previous year to determine the best of the best and the worst of the worst. Each day this week, we will take a look at some of our favorite (and least favorite) games of 2010. You will get a chance to see how our opinions can be vastly different on the same game (I can assure you, myself and Kyle Orr will be disagreeing on Death Spank), and you will get to understand how our minds work a bit better.
That said, let’s take a look at our first category. With the three major consoles having motion control, in some form, it seemed fitting that we should take a look at the games that got us to move this year.

Donkey Kong Country Returns
Other than me physically moving off my couch to put a disc in one my consoles, the only game that has really been keeping my heart rate up is Donkey Kong Country: Returns. Sure, this game isnât on the same level as something like Dance Central or EA Sports Active, but it still got me shaking around more than I have all year. All of Donkey Kongâs moves are performed by shaking the Wii remote, so the more you play, the more you shake and I just couldnât seem to stop.

Rock Band 3
You know why you donât see too many chunky drummers? Because drumming in a rock band can get the body moving (and sweating) just as good as any workout. As someone who prefers to rock the plastic drum kit in music games, Rock Band 3 got me moving more that any other game this year. Get some cymbals, throw it on Expert and you can get your blood moving way more than any Zumba game ever can.

Kinect Adventures
Being the launch title packed in with Microsoftâs new peripheral, Kinect Adventures became the first game outside of arcades that actually had me standing up and jumping around. While the game is pretty shallow with only five different activities, all of the mini games work great and for the most part they are quite fun. It also serves as a perfect way to introduce people to Kinect for the first time.Â

EA Sports Active 2
I can freely admit that I had little belief in the idea of âfitness gamesâ before this year. However, after my girlfriend got me into Wii Fit Plus, I took it upon myself to pick this game up. While Iâve only been using it for a couple of weeks, every time I use it I work up a sweat. While the PS3 version does have problems, for a gamer who has trouble finding time to regularly work out, this is a godsend.
