Journey: Collector’s Edition Coming in August

Thatgamecompany has confirmed that the Journey: Collector’s Edition is indeed real and has spilled some details on its website.

The Collector’s Edition will contain all of thatgamecompany’s PSN exclusives titles - Flow, Flower, and Journey – as well as a one-month Playstation Plus membership, “exclusive mini games,” creator commentary audio tracks, the soundtracks for all three games and a variety of other bonuses. It will be available on August 28 here in North America for $30.

The full list of goodies include:

  • 30-minute behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of Journey
  • Creator Commentary play-throughs of all three games
  • Three exclusive mini-games from thatgamecompany
  • Concept art and screenshot galleries for all three games
  • Original soundtracks for all three games
  • PS3 dynamic themes and wallpapers
  • PSN avatars including eight exclusive new Journey avatars never released before
  • Official game trailers and developer diary videos
  • Reversible cover art

Hm, that's actually pretty awesome. Thatgamecompany really thinks outside the box when it comes to their overall game design. will definitely be picking this up. Oh, and a free month of PSN+ is even better.

 @GustavoRAM recently, since I bought a 3 month PSN + card, I've been taking advantage of the discounts and obviously the free full game downloads with being a premium member. Infamous 2 and Just Cause 2 are a blast. Sony was smart though, practically all of the freebies available through PSN + are open world or sandbox games... so if I want to keep playing, I'll need to continue paying. More hard drive space is needed though... I'm down to about 40 gigs... Journey is a neat game, really about a 2-3 hour playthough, but there is tons of opportunity for replayability.
