Nintendo has announced that an XL-sized 3DS will be coming to North America during the summer.
Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime confirmed the news during the latest Nintendo Direct video. The Nintendo 3DS XL will be released on August 19, the same day of release as New Super Mario Bros. 2, for $199. It will be available in blue and red and come with a 4GB SD card. The screens will be about ninety percent larger than the original 3DS.
Interestingly, the 3DS XL will not come with an AC adaptor to help “reduce costs.” Nintendo did mention that the Ac adaptor for the original 3DS would be compatible. It will also only have one circle pad like the original 3DS. This seems to me like a missed opportunity to include a second one.
What do you guys think? Will you be picking one up now? Let us know in the comments.
