Two Indie games that I think everyone should check out.

I was messing around and looking at the XBL Indie Games and I found a pretty cool one. It's called Solar for 240 Microsoft Points. It's a top down game Basically you play as a Star moving through the Universe. There are asteroids and planets floating around as well. When you float up to a planet it's starts to orbit you and then the asteroids will start to orbit the planet and become it's moon. There are also other stars floating around as well and they will steal your planets or throw your planets' orbit off and sling shot out into space. You can of coarse start ramming the other stars and destroy them if you want. It's a kick back and whine down at the end of a intense night of Modern Warefare 2 or Left 4 Dead 2. So for 240 Points you can either buy this game or a goldfish for your avatar.

The other sweet Indie game that I discover is Gratuitous Space Battles on Steam for $19.99. Again it's a top down view. It's another kick back and watch the game play itself. You contol a fleet of ships; kind of. There is no direct control or even ordering one ship to attack another. You are giving the number of ships you can use and a set amount of money per battle. There are 4 different races in which you can play. Each with their own style of ships. There are three different types of ships; Fighters, Frigates, and Cruisers. Each race has 4 different hull designs for each type. Each ship as a set number of slots; hexagons and squares. Hexagons are weapon slots and they can be anything from pulse lasers to EMP missiles to Self-Defense lasers that shoot down incoming missiles to Decoy missiles that trick the Self-Defense lasers. The squares are for engines, shields, power, crew modules, armor, repiar equipment, etc. Everything has stats, and it goes deep into the stats for example with the weapons you see the max and min. range, damage, how much power it uses, how many crew members it takes to run it, how many hits points it adds, how much the price is going to go up, and much much more. You can save each load out of a ship so you can have 3 ships of the same hull design and each one has different weapons, armor, and engines. Before the battle you have to buy all the ships and load outs you want to use for the battle. You can also get each ship some orders, and I don't mean order to attack that enemy ship. I mean orders like fire on ships with the lowest HP, or if that ships HP drops below a certain percent that ship will retreat, or protect this ship, and on. After all that is done you press the fight button and from then until the end of the battle the only control you have is over the camera. If you win the battle you get honor points which you use to buy weapon upgrades, power upgrades, engine upgrades, new hull designs, and unlock the other races. Sometimes the battles can last a while so you can have this game run in the background while you do other stuff on the computer.

Both of these games are great and tons of fun. If you don't buy either of these at least try out the trail of Solar.

So many games and so little time

There have a been a bu-cu amount of games come out recently as most people know. I got Modern Warfare on day one of coarse and I got Assassin's Creed II for my birthday last week. I'm tore between the two. I'm the type of person who only really commits to one game at a time. I want to play Assassin's Creed II because I loved the first one, but since all my time is spent playing that I feel like I'm falling behind on Modern Warfare 2. And to add to that I still haven't finished Borderlands, and I want to play the New Super Mario Brothers Wii. Oh and of coarse Mass Effect 2 will be out soon too, and there is no way I can finish all these games before then.

With working twelve hours a day I don't have time to play all these awesome amazing games that are out now. /cry

Possible sleepless night in the wake of Modern Warfare 2

I can't wait, from the time of writing this 1 day 3 hours and 5 minutes till Modern Warfare 2 is released. I think I'm going to find it hard to sleep tonight thinking that after tonight the next time I go to sleep I will have played Modern Warfare 2. I don't think I was this excited about Halo 3. With Halo 3 I just wanted to play the multiplayer, but with MW2 I am looking forward to the single player as well. I even have my night tomorrow played out. I will get the game come home play it for two hours then sleep because I might get a call to come in to work (I'm a substitute teacher on my of days and Tuesday is an off day). I'm not going to skip work for a couple reasons 1. I'm saving up to move out of my parents house and 2. my parents know about the game's release and they would be pissed if I turned down work for a video game and finally 3. I have a girlfriend and they cost money (lol).

Dreaming about games

Ever since Monday I have had a dream about Modern Warfare 2 every night. I had one dream where I was one of those people who got the game early and was streaming it on Ustream. Another dream was I was one of the members of Soap's Task Force and we were fighting terrorist in my home town. And the only other one I can remember any details about, is that it was Nov. 10th and I was playing the multiplayer. I can't remember any others but I do know that I had a dream about MW2 every single night this week. Is that weird at all? I know I'm not the only one though. I posted the question in a couple other forums and I found out that other people are too. I'm going to post the question in the TAG forums right now.

My Job is cutting into my gaming

I just started my new job as a Draftsman (works just under architects) yesterday and I have to commute an hour and a half to work and then work for 7 hours then commute back (that's 12 hours out of the house). I know it sounds like I'm complaining about work but I'm not. I'm complaining that the trips plus work tire me out so much that I don't feel like playing games. I know I just started and things will get better, but with Modern Warfare 2 coming out so soon it just sucks.

Well that's my first blog. I'll have more to rant about later when I'm more awake.
