Surround Sound...or lack of....

I have an HD TV and my 360 is connected to it by an HDMI cable.  How can I connect it to my surround sound amp? I did check to see if my TV can link to an amp via the phono cables and even though there are lots of spare sockets I couldnt appear to get that to work.
Also I thought id use the AV cable for the sound and the HDMI cable to carry the picture, but sadly I can only plug one cable in at a time to my 360.

How on earth can I get surround sound to work on my 360?
Your help is of course.......always welcome ......

I have 2 Xbox 360s. Both in seperate rooms(rooms next to each other)
Both have Silver Memeberships on them.
And both connected to HD Tvs.

Can I play multiplayer on them....e.g 1 person in each room playing against the other room.
Or do I need to have Gold Membership on them both?

Would appreciate your advice as I want to start hosting multiplayer in each room.

How often do you play?

How often do you play games? Whens the best time for you? and how many games do you have on the go at the one time?

I tend to play one game at a time. until I finish it or get fed up of it. I tend to play for half an hour at a time and perhaps once or twice a day. If I am lucky to have time off work (a weekend) then I might hammer through a game a bit faster than normal.

I wish I had more free time to play games and increase my gamer points.....Im currently on about 3900 gamer points. Small amount to some peoples I know.....those gamer points are addictive.

Media Warfare 2

Over here in the UK theres been a minor scuffle amongst the media about the violence in CoD:MM2. Once again they are flipping their lid about children playing the game (even though the game is 18 Certified) Their main focus is on the Airport Level.

I played part of that level the other day and it is wierd level to stick in a game. To actually have to gun down civillians ..(or do you not actually have to kill them, you can just avoid shooting your fellow bad guys)

So far the game is pretty good and as described in some reviews. very intense when the action kicks off.

Sadly Ive not had the time to play it for a couple of days but so far so good

What do you think of the game? And has the media frenzy over the Airport level reached the rest of the world yet?

What on earths going on with the pricing for this thing.
On average games are about £35 on release. You can usually get them for £32 from certain supermarkets. Not the case it seems for MW2. This seems to be priced at £45 which is insane (personal opinion)
Im sorry but I dont care how good this game is, I am not paying £45 for it. I saw this sort of situation appear when I worked in the video world and Rental DVDs were brought out at a higher price than normal DVDs. Before long the price of rental dvds went through the room.
Not sure how much the game will cost in the USA and other countries but I will hold off buying it until I can pick it up at a reasonable price.  Saying that I could just as easy see the game on Tuesday morning and think sod it...and buy it anyways....

Games and the ones ive been playing lately.

Well, I finished Mirrors Edge and got a nice amount of gamer points for that game. I did enjoy the game. And am glad Its yet another game ive completed.
Then I had to go striaght into Batman:Arkum Asylum as a friend of mine bought it for me and had been pestering me daily 'have you played it have you played it' I did explain that I tend to focus on one game at a time due to a lack of gamer time but he was having none of it.
So my thoughts on Batman. Well I am enjoying it. I do like the 'engine' and am finding it easy enough to avoid me chucking my joypad at the wall.  Graphics are very good and It should keep me busy until Monday, when the arrival of Modern Warfare 2 hits my shelves at midnight. Sadly though I am working on Tuesday at 2pm so Ill only have the morning to play MM2, but thats a start. . . . I am getting quite into the gamer point side of things and although I dont go for every single gamer point possible, I do enjoy when the 'bleep' comes up and awards me 10 or 25 or more points. Currently around the 3500 mark on my profile I still have a long way to go to catch up with my friends. But its fun and tha  sthe point.

Well its a week til pay day and I am down to my last £120. I have a day off work tomorrow and what do I go and do. I had to...I really did.

I picked up Halo 3 for £32 from my nearest ASDA/Walmart.   I just had to.

I wont play it this evening as I am shattered after a long day booking holidays for people, but do plan to spend some time on it tomorrow, seeing what all the fuss was about.

Im sure I will like it and nice to see that there is a 48hr free trial of XboxLive Gold for me to use (still not re-upgraded from Silver- no point just yet)

So whats your verdict on Halo 3. And will I do as Paris seems to indicate...Play this game until Modern Warfare 2 comes out at the end of the year......I suspect he may be right(again)

What Ive been playing here in the UK

I sort of got out of the habit of blogging for a little while there. Shame on me, I know.

Still been listening to the Unclegamer podcast though so keeping up to date with you lot.

Since near-completing Res Evil 5 (I fell out with the game when I could not get past the final final bad guy) , I moved onto Rainbow Six Vegas 2 which I loved. Got stuck on a helicopter part of that game and put it down for a couple of weeks only to discover yesterday that I was on the very last part of the game. Managed to completed that last night.  Great game but did seem a little short (and I in no way am that good a gamer thatI hammered my way through it)

Ive been playing The Godfather 2 but stopped that for a while as it is very samey samey. God but just a routine game.

After listening to Paris and Co going on about 'I played some more Left 4 Dead' I hunted around for a cheap copy of it. Then changed my mind because I heard that It was more suited toward multi player than single player (and I have no friends)  THEN I did find a cheap copy and bought it anyways. So far Im still on the first section but am enjoying the game in an arcade game sort of way. Hopefully I will finish the multi player, get my arse in gear and buy a Gold mebership and then go online with it.

my games update

Well, over the past few weeks since my last blog I have been hammering my way through Resident Evil 5. I got the the very last bad guy and kinda got bored with the thing because my dumb ass partner kept being killed (and I wasnt even on co-op, it was the AI one that was dying) So I then opted to go through Gears of War 2. And is it just me or was that a very easy and short game. I seemed to sprint through it (and trust me, I am in no way what I would call a good gamer) I completed GOW2 a few minutes ago and was surprised at the shortness of it all.

I liked Gears 2 but It did lack the  'Oh this is a good game' that I got from Gears 1.

Now Im stuck as to whether or not to sell the games on (Gears and Gears 2 I mean) or keep hold of one of them for the multi player aspect of it :- suggestions please

Next game I shall be playing will either be The Godfather 2 or Call of Duty 4. Might go for the Godfather as thats a friends game and only on loan to me.

Evil is Resident in my house

Well I bought it on Day 1 of release. I havent had time to play it due to work hours. But I am off work on Sunday and thats the day I will pop the latest Res Evil into my console and play it from the start, rather than the demo level that I tried a short while back. Heres hoping its a good game, Im sure it is.

A co-worker has actually taken two days holiday from work to actually hammer his way through the zombie hordes. I am tempted to tell him that Ive complated the game just to see his face. Then confess that I had to wait two days to play the game.....all in good fun.

I look forward to the reviews.

Ive stuck to my game a month promise. The game for March : Resident Evil 5.

I didnt bother with Halo Wars. Not my type of game really.
