I too have been playing some Soul Calibur IV. It's not a great game but it's amusing. My biggest problem with fighting games is the sound effects: close your eyes, just listen, and you'll think that you are hearing some crazy porn.

If that's how you get your kicks Zoyd. I kid, I kid. I'm really liking the game. I have about 20 various Marvel and DC heroes and villains made, plus a few others. I should take a pic of the one I made of Superman last night. He turned out great.

I know, I swear 75% of the time we're playign SoulCaliber we're actually just making characters. Right now I've got regular Nevis, and then Lara Croft and my current favorite is Bella from the Twilight novels.

Although I wish I could choose light sabors on any of the characters. That's definatly the best fighting method.

I'm not sure about the whole avatar thing yet. I hope it doesn't completely replace the gamerpics we now have. I just don't like the idea of everyone having cartoony versions of themselves. This is the 360, not the Wii.

Fester, how far up the Tower of Lost Souls have you got? I think it should be relatively easy to get to the top... but getting down is going to be a bitch. I only descended five floors before my glam-ninja-fascista died (I do love the character creation element!). Descending 20 floors is going to be a bitch.

Not to worry Zoyd, gamerpics and themes will still be usable. If you don't want to use the Avatars (they look like a cross between Miis & Homies Nevis) just leave auto play on and leave a game in and you can access the old dashboard style from the 360 button on your controller.

As to Tower of Lost Souls, I'm on floor 11 and have to beat everyone with a Critical Finish in order to proceed. I'd suggest going to this guide so you know how to progress.

Well, with the rumored 360 price drop in September (the Arcade will be $199 - others we don't know) it will make it cheaper than the Wii this holiday season. Considering the Wii is still hard to get the 360 might be bought as an alternative. Provided users go online for the update, they'll find it a bit similar to the Miis.

Also the Avatars will be incorporated in the future development of games up to E10+ so Microsoft is doing some things to hit that market.

Lips, You're in the Movies and the new Scene-it?(which can be played online this time) look quite fun as party games.

It should be an interesting final quarter to 2008 as the 360 has a lot of games for the casual and hardcore crowds.

While I'm pretty sure I like the idea of Avatars, my fear is that it is going to be just one more way for Microsoft to try to extract money from us. Now, you can buy gamerpics. With Avatars, it'll be like buying pieces of gamerpics (Buy a new hairstyle pack, 80 MSP! Buy a t-shirt three-pack, 40 MSP!) I like playing with dolls as much as the next guy; I just don't want to wind up being asked to pay for every little dressup part.

There's a new Scene-it coming out? WITH online play? That will actually make it an option worth purchasing!

Yeah, Brilig is right as Microsoft has mentioned that they are looking at that as options. Maybe they should rename the company Microtrasaction. There might be free ad based accessories. Mountain Dew shirts or something. Perhaps even achievements that unlock game related apparel for your Avatar.

Is everyone in love with Domo? I just found out about this craze.

Fester, you don't need to fulfill each floors objectives in order to proceed... you only need to fulfill them to get the treasures. I've only unlocked a few treasures but I've ascended to about floor 30.

Sorry, Nevis... I've never heard of Domo. What is it?
