Whether you plan on buying Spore or not (I'm more on the "not" side), for $9.95 the Spore Creator Creature (SCC) is a great value. You are given a wide range of building blocks and a general starting point. From there the combinations are huge. SCC is a computer based combination of Tinker Toys, Playdough, and Mr. Potato Head. Let your mind roam free and create your own species.

For those that will go on to Spore, there are traits to consider like speed, health, and charm. But I recommend that you start just by building. You can make a consistent creature, or a freak. To see what people have created, visit Sporepedia. By the time you read this, there will be over half a million creatures in the Sporepedia database.

The system requirements for SCC are not high. So I would recommend that everyone download the demo and see if you enjoy shaping a new creature. If you do, for ten extra dollars you can greatly expand your choices.

Spore Creature Creator is a blast! I've wasted hours of my precious time, which then convinced me to buy the full version. It's editor is simplistic, yet deep.

I am confirmed getting Spore but don't think I will be getting the Spore Creature Creator. I just don't think creating creatures and no other features is warrant a purchase.

I dl'd the demo last night (free version) and I'm getting kind of hyped. Any idea of the specs the full version of spore might be sporting? I enjoy playing certain types of games on the pc but in no way is mine a gaming rig.

I downloaded teh free trial and it is no where to be found on my computer but it says it's dowl=nloaded ...did anyone else have this problem?
