I think they announce it on the front page but I'm not sure. I'm still kind of a noob here but I saw they announced the winner of the Mass Effect Hoodie on the front page.

I saw that post too, but then i also thought i read something about PMing the winner.

either way, it all still looks up and official, instead of "this contest has been closed"

When we pick the winner for a contest, the announcement is always posted on the front page, and we make a note about it in the Consolidated List Of Contests thread. A winner for the Uncharted contest has not yet been selected.

We do not make any mentions of "This Contest has been closed", since the close date is always clearly listed on each contest, and people can easily make their own determination on whether or not a contest is open or closed.
