Lost: Preparation for Season Finale 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Spoiler alert for "There's No Place Like Home Part 1" which has already aired:

For those that may have not heard, ABC will be re-airing "There's No Place Like Home Part 1" before showing parts 2 & 3 this Thursday. However, according to the Official Lost Podcast there will be additional footage that was not shown a week ago Thursday in the form of additional questions asked of the Oceanic Six during the press conference.

For proof that I'm not a prophet, updates in red:

(1) Speculation: either to guide them to the soldiers for a fight, hoping that Sawyer will have gotten to the beach and they will know to come prepared; or to guide them to the copter hoping they get there while the soldiers are gone and he can ferry them away. Looks like the latter was true.

(2) Clicking his heels and saying, "There's no place like home" (based on the season finally title)? Your guess is probably better than mine. By using the orchid station appears to be the answer; so what does the orchid station do?

(3) I think Jacob is using Christian to communicate. Why? Good question.

(4) She has accepted that the island is where she belongs.

(5) Because the "losties" would come get Claire and she belongs on the island and out of potential harm. I think the Cabin is a safe-haven on the island and will not fall unless the entire island falls. Again, a lot of speculation.

(6) The Temple, where the rest of the others have already gone. I would also guess that however you move an island, you have to do it from there. Totally wrong; the Orchid Station is correct.

(7) Don't know what's on his arm, but I would guess the secondary protocol is a "scorched earth" scenario - destroy everyone and everything until you get what you want (Ben). Wrong. Apparently it is burn everything after you get Ben. As for the arm thing, maybe it controls the explosives?

(8) From the Wikipedia article on Shangri-La: "In the novel Lost Horizon, the people who live at Shangri-La are almost immortal, living years beyond the normal lifespan."

(A) Speculation: I think Widmore is the man behind the Dharma Initiative. After all the DI were killed, the island was moved so that he could not find it again. Widmore and the DI knew about the Temple but it was off-limits to them. Perhaps breaching, or attempting to breach, the Temple is why the DI was killed. I'm totally lost (pardon the pun) on this one now. I thought the stations were built by DI. But it is the Orchid station where you can move the island. I don't have a clue about how all of this fits together now.

(B ) I think your (2) is unlikely, but any of the other 3 are possible. My initial guess watching the episode was your (4) but I'm not so sure now. G7G's #4 is looking a lot more likely now.

I don't exactly have an in depth analyzation of "There's No Place Like Home", I am very excited for this weeks episode. I want to know who is that mystery character that wanted to take young John Loche to a special school. He is apparently with Widmore, but his motives are unknown.

The man your referring to is Richard Alpert http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Richard_Alpert . The same man on the island when Locke is with Ben at the Temple when Ben askes Locke to kill his father and when Ben is a child on the island. He, obviously has someway of appearing not to age.
Was I the only one that didnt know there wasnt an episode this week ? I was crushed

I had a chance to watch an advanced screening of the finale. I'll say that it is good, not as good as past finales. I will also say that I think that a lot of casual fans are going to be extremely confused and might not like where the show is headed.

I think that the finale didn't live up to the hype but there were a couple of jaw dropping moments, like when they reveal who is in the coffin...

Re:Lost Fans? 4 Months, 1 Week ago
Sweet!

Spoilers included below:

We got answers. So we saw the mechanism that moved the island, and simultaneously sent Ben on a his way. We saw how the Oceanic Six (plus two) get of the island (kudo's to Parris on the Penny theory). We saw that at least some of the people were still alive on the island.

But we got more questions. What did Christian Shepherd mean when he told Michael he could go? That Michael (and others?) would be protected from the explosion or that Michael could now "go" into the next life (i.e. die, which is what he had wanted but the island had not allowed)? What happened to the people on the Zodiac? What happened to those that had been on the boat but were getting off when it exploded? Why had Locke left the island? Did it have to be moved again? What were the things that went wrong? Did Kate just have a dream to justify why she shouldn't go back, or was Claire somehow really warning her to leave Aaron behind? When Ben says everyone has to go back, does that include Desmond? Per TPA, what about Aaron? Does he have to go back too? Or is Ben still lying? Can he actually go back? How are they going to do the shows for the next two seasons? Will we get flashbacks of what happened on the island? What will be the "present" for these seasons? Is Ben really going to try to kill Penny, or does he just want Charles to worry about him trying to kill her? Why would Sun work with Charles?

Re:Lost Fans? 4 Months ago
Ok, finale jitters my post came apart a little messy. First off here is what I believe, Jin is not dead, he's in the water, Faraday will pick him up as he was in the raft at the end. I'm thinking because Aaron was born on the island that he doesn't have to come back. I can't wait to see how Sun and Widmore's storyline pans out next year.

ABC has it listed as a "mid-season" replacement, which typically means January.

Re:Lost Fans? 3 Months, 1 Week ago
So I started watching Lost about a week or 2 before the Season 4 Finale. I zoomed through it and just watched the finale yesterday. So now I can talk about it!

So, here's my theories:

1. At first, I thought Jin was dead, but, the more I thought about it, the more I knew that there's NO WAY that Jin died just like that.

2. Farehty (if that's how you spell his name) wasn't on the water after the island dissapeared so I agree with Parris in that he got sucked up into the radius of the dissapearing island.

3. As for Locke being in the coffin, here's my thought process: In all the episodes leading up to the Season Finale, I switched many times on who I thought was in the coffin. My 2 top ones were either Ben or Locke. When I was watching the actual last scene of the finale, I kep thinking, "It's Ben, it's Ben, it's Ben!" But I was kind of suprised when Ben pops out from behind Jack. Of course, he's Ben, so, why should I be suprised? So let's just say I'll be anticipating the reason Locke is in the coffin.

4. As for the Ben - Charles Whitmore thing, I think Ben will end up killing Penny, once again, because he's Ben, and Desmond will get pissed and kill Ben.

5. Also, I have to give Parris a pat on the back. When I listened to the Remember When Episode about the finale, and he talked about how there's no way Michael's done, he convinced me into it. Becuase, you're right, he did absolutely NOTHING.

So, those are my speculations and theories

I was somewhat like lilkuke as I started to watch Lost about 2 weeks before the season 4 finale and I am yet to watch the entire series. I am currently halfway through season 3 and in a way I am happy I waited untill four season were already put so I wouldnt have to wait in between episodes to watch. Overall it is the best show iv'e ever sen in my life.

FYI - I haven't had a chance to listen yet but I noticed syncing my iPod this morning that the official Lost podcast has the audio from the Comic-Con panel session. This was good stuff last year, hopefully it will be similar this year. At the least, it is official Lost information during the middle of the dry spell waiting for Season 5.

There is also a new Dharma video up that was shown at Comic-con, "Secret Candle," on abc's site HERE . . . some interesting stuff, especially if you listen to the off-camera voices, given the timeframe of the video . . .

Re:Lost Fans? 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
I never got into Lost when the show started, but a friend made me interested in it and i've been able to catch up on the first 3 seasons for free using abc.go.com. I just wanted to throw that info out for anyone who wants to watch Lost but doesnt want to start watching in season 5. I <3 this show and look forward to discussing it.
