Yes I think that they should have the joker come back in the next Nolan film. Not just once. Or twice. But with a thousand jokers completely taking over Gotham city. Here is my complete plot idea for a third batman film.

Starting at the beginning of the film you have batman staking out the circus. Knowing that there has been a significant rise in the amount of crime in gotham city, and the mayor is attending the circus he goes to protect him. At the circus the owners are the graysons, but have been having trouble with their strong man, Bane. Bane is hired to kill the graysons secretly, but he hasn't gone through with it. The mob boss comes down to personally make sure that bane does it, and before Bane has a chance to protest he stabs Bane with a steroid that enrages Bane (while also starting an addiction). Bane kills the parents while stopping short of dick when batman charges in. At this point Bane attacks Batman, and breaks his back. Batman leaves, and goes to treat his wounds while the city becomes terrorized. hundreds of the most insane people begin to wreak havoc pretending to be the Joker. One of those crazed people is Harley Quin who was a stripper prior to her life of real crime, and decides to don a semi Joker related costume, and attack the city. In some fashion she meets up with Poison Ivy. Poison Ivy of course is changed to meet with the requirements of the Nolan universe. She is an eco friendly bio-terrorist who specializes in organic poisons (maybe with a little help from Al Ghul?). Of course the focus is that while batman is recovering the city gets worse.

This is only my idea of how the movie could go. feel free to call me a fool, but I think this would play out well.

Interesting plot. I think a team up with Catwoman would be good though. Maybe have her stealing something at the beginning of the movie. Then the movie can play a bit with Rachel's death and Bruce's love live. Then the whole Bane thing you mentioned then Just have Batman team up with Catwoman

I like the start of the idea. It brings in Robin in a way without making him the "Boy-Wonder". You could add that since Batman saves Dick, but still gets his back broken, Dick helps Batman back to the Bat Cave. Now Batman being the man he is, and knowing what it feels like to not have parents decides to keep Dick around. No real Robin, yet...maybe just a foundation. Just Dick in the background, helping Batman behind the scenes.

I think Harley can work, she could be the leader of this so-called band of copy cat jokers. However, I do think Catwoman needs to be added. She could just be a crafty theaf that is eluding Batman. I don't see her as the charicter that would cause chaos as the Joker did. I can see those two paths crossing in the movie and then at the end team up, but then after all is said and done, they go back to her still trying to evade him. Also, lots of sexual tension as well. Maybe, some Bruce Wayne/Selina Kyle banter as well.

While I would love to see another film, I'm not sure if there should be so many new characters included. I mean, if Quin, Ivy, Bane, Robin, and Catwoman were all central characters the film would have to be even longer than DK to actually do them all justice.

This is what happened to Spiderman 3. There were just too many (minor) story arcs for me.

I just want to see Batman nuke superman.

I think in the next Batman movie (Arabian Knight) there should be a zombieocalypse in Gotham. Maybe the zombies could be the kind that are resurrected corpses and they could bring back Maggie Gyllenhaal. Then Alfred shows Batman a secret copy of the letter that he burned in Dark Knight and we could watch Batman wade through legions of zombies and crush Maggie Gyllenhaal in a jealous rage. Batman is ensnared in a bear trap set by Abraham Lincoln's zombie form, Abraham Lincoln could be a psychopath and we could all swoon over his performance because everyone loves when an actor plays a mentally unstable person. The movie ends with a swarm of zombies piling atop Batman, and as he looks off into the fading sun he sheds a single bat-tear. Then as the credits roll we see that the tear has been the nutrient needed to grow one little plant, it is a plant of Hope, a plant of Justice, and a plant that shapes the number four, signifying the coming of a sequel.

I know I'll be happy as long as it doesn't turn into a marketing clusterf*ck (Spiderman 3) and Joel Schumacher stays far, far away from it.

Maybe it will! OR I can make my own sequel in cartoon form and put it up on youtube, yes, I think I will do that.

im sorry but i honestly could not and would not go see the next movie then. it would ruin the dark knight for me and for some one to mimick heath ledger would just be extremly cheap. rember the joker as heath not a new lookalike and besides why not get some other villians in it beside i seriously wonder how many more batman movies they should make for a while because i would hate to see the so far steller series go sour

well I think its obvious that they had plans for the joker in the next film even just a cameo. either way they will probley recast and im ok with it . It will by no means get close to keiths preformance but i think they will still do it
