And most of all when a new one comes out you don't have to worry about compatibilty. New I-pod too bad buy a new one, from Apple.
New Zune, new firmware update for older Zune.
Not trying to turn this into a 'fanboy off', but I am going to strip down both players with thteir pros and cons.
-Bigger Screen
Heard of the iPod Touch? Has a quite large screen. The iPod Classic has a screen about the same size as a Zune2.0
-Wireless Sync
That is a convenience, but is it really
that great? The iTouch has a feature where you can buy any song wirelessly and put it on your iPod through Wi-Fi. You will need to charge your iPod Zune eventually anyway. I don't find that either of those features are necessary.
-Not linked to iTunes
I find that iTunes makes it easier most of the time. Nobody likes buying their music though. The Zune player has a software accompanying it right? Windows Media Player 11. I do like the 'all-in-one' pass that the ZuneStore has. As much music as you want for $15 a month.
-Better Sound
That's debatable. I have listened to both and really there's no difference.
-Longer Battery Life
Probably true. The iPod Classic has a decent batt life, but nothing to be amazed @.
-Better Ear Buds
I will fight this one to the death. The new iPod models come with very good earbuds. They have a small rubber circle around it that help keep it in place and they do have a quite good sound quality.
[B]Zune Pros/Cons:
+Smaller
+Music is cheaper, if you buy it legit
+Battery Life
-Not stylish, 1st gen looks like a brick. 2nd gen is decent looking.
-Smaller screen
iPod Pros/Cons:
+Stylish
+Ease of use
+iPod Touch jailbroken is amazing.
-Battery life bad
-Background not custimizable
I would suggest to get a 32GB iPod Touch, although they are very overpriced. If you've got the money, get one. If you Jailbreak one it can be your new PDA. They aren't very ideal though when you're trying to change the music in your car while your driving for instance or when you're running. The iPod Classic 80GB is very nice. I have one myself. I've got 14 movies and 1300 songs on it. Only used about 15GB of space.
