....I pre-ordered from Best Buy to get the "exclusive" bonus content.....only to get an email this morning saying my copy is backordered for 2 weeks!!!!!!!!

I don't even know what to say to describe my utter disbelief that this could happen....

So it's 9:30 in the morning and I'm getting ready to get out the door and into my cube by ten-thirty.

And it's only been about four hours since I was able to stop playing this freaking amazing game. This is not going to end well for me...

I bought and I love it. Other developers need to take some advice form Sid and realize that a strategy game can be done on a console and done right.

I am so addicted!!! So just to put it out there, if anyone wants to do some online play on 360, my gamertag is TheSavageBag. If you catch me online play CivRev, all you gots to do is send the invite, and I'll come running.

I don't think I'm out of turn by saying that this is my GotY!

The game is addictive, but I probably wouldn't call it my game of the year. I would have to go with Vegas 2. I really enjoyed the story mode and online play is great.

Back on track....I'm game for a little multi-player. FYI- Achievements only unlock in single player.

Yeah, I found that out too. But I know a game's good for me when I don't give a damn about the achievements. I love this one so much because it's so reminiscient of the games I played as a kid. Risk, Stratego, A&A. I almost want a board game version.

And quick sidenote, I feel you on Vegas 2. Hit me up for that sometime as well. I need to clear out more T-Hunts on Realistic.

OMG, did someone make a stratego reference? I used to love that game, and Civ Rev definatly takes me back to those days. I played 5 games for a total of like 9 hours, lol.

Really does give a feel of Risk at times, got to "defend" those boarders, or the areas that may become your boarder.

I am rusty at these Civ. games. Have not played in about 4 years and I totally sux. Was getting my butt handed to me on King mode.

Enjoying the heck out of the game and when someone says "I played 2 games" those that have played it know, that's like 4~6 hours Know I remember why I stop playing Civ. It's a major time sink. Think I'll be dragging butt come Monday.

p.s. hit me up anytime for some T-hunt on Vegas 2 or 1!

Briefest of footnotes....

I was just twenty minutes late getting back from lunch because the regional caught me going all kinds of Red Dawn in Lincoln's grill on the DS and I wound up showing him how the game worked. He seemed entertained...

Aces! I'd heard about this before, but I've not had the opportunity to check it out yet. Definitely going to when I get home.

Re:Civ Revolution 1 Month, 1 Week ago
Oh I got this game on Wednesday, too. I was up to 1am in the morning playing it. Unfortunately, work is incredibly slow so the next morning was a little rough but well worth it. I wasn't sure how it was going to be on the 360 as opposed to the pc, but I think it is awesome. It was pretty easy to get the controls down and get going.

One thing I did notice is that you really want to have your cities close to one another so other leaders (little bastage Napolean) doesn't sneak a city in between two of yours. Also, I am curious about the space station and how much you can build on that.

Again, very fun game!

Re:Civ Revolution 1 Month ago
I haven't played the other versions of Civ Rev, but I really like the DS version. Civ is one of those games I like to play while watching tv, so he ds version works well. Playing this game on the toilet does make for some really long dumps. The only difference on the game engine on the DS vs the other systems is the lack of a civilopedia. I definitely recommend the DS version of the game, especially if you travel a lot. It could make some long rides or flights go by like they are nothing.

Obviously, the graphics aren't what they are on the other systems (and there's no Civilopedia), but the core gameplay remains the hook, and it definitely holds. It's definitely been the one I'm playing most, primarily because of my work schedule, and I would wholeheartedly recommend the DS version to anyone interested.

Re:Civ Revolution 4 Weeks, 1 Day ago
I'm slow getting through my first run through. Work, kids, etc. have slowed my gaming down recently, but it was a TON of fun. Yes, I've told several of my gaming friends that it reminds me of Risk. Stratego...wow...I haven't heard of that game in a while!! Awesome!

I'm curious to hear how the multiplayer is?? I haven't played it yet. Good, bad...I'd be interested in some feedback. My gaming time is precious and if its worth it I'll definitely jump in.

Re:Civ Revolution 4 Weeks, 1 Day ago
I have had lots of problems with the muliplayer. Dropouts and long pauses between turns. Also get 'player X is resyncing' often.

Multiplayer goes very slow when compared to teh single player version, and you can often get yourself mixed up when you don't realize that everybody is moving at once, so when you try to attack some enimies, they may have actually moved already.

I have put tons of hours into this already, finished up all of the victory types on Chief and Warlord already, and only have an economic victory left for King.

I love the way the Game of the week scores you vs everybody else. I was really proud of my 540bc victory on chiefton f
