New Zelda Ideas? 3 Months, 1 Week ago
One possibility for E3 is that Nintendo announces a new Zelda game, what would everyone like to see in such a game?

I personally would like to see a departure from the classic dungeon progression in which link faces puzzles to find a weapon, small keys, map, compass, and eventually the master key, and then progresses to hit the boss three times on the glowing part with his newfound weapon. This worked for quite a while, but once I played through twilight princess it felt as if the franchise had really reached the pinnacle of that sort of game design, and that Nintendo should not put out more of the same game anymore.
What I would love is a more mature zelda game, in which Link is living peacefully in his village with his wife, although now link is wearing normal clothes instead of a green nightgown and cap, this wouldn't be link maybe, but perhaps his son and all that would link him to previous heroes is that he has a triforce on him or something. Then a stranger comes to town, and as the protagonist is in his home the stranger comes to visit and kills the heroes wife. He watches her die and then tries to kill the stranger (who strangely resembles Ganondorf) but fails. The rest of the game he would be in pursuit of the stranger, following him through a big open world in which he could face moral decisions, perhaps there could be an option where links hand twitches during conversation and you flick the wiimote to kill the person you are talking to. No funny tunics, no chests to search through, and maybe a bigger emphasis on the one on one combat that was improved in TP. At the end you could finally reach the stranger's home and kill him in front of his screaming family, or decide not to and watch yourself be stabbed.
What would you guys want to see in a new Zelda?

Think it is time to play as Zelda and save Link Honestly the ending to Twilight Princess as to how you defeat Ganondorf was cool. So maybe this time he wants his revenge on Zelda. It would be a tough sale to capture Link so would have to be like catch him along with the rest of Hyrule, but the castle would be un-infected or what ever.

Yea, let's give Link a break and give Zelda the lead role for once in "The Legend of Zelda" I am sure they can come up with new weapons for her.

I would like to point out, that the link in most of the legend of Zelda games is in fact not the same link, but a new Link in a line of Links, so saying this is a new guy doesn't really change much. Now if you made him the direct son of the link from Twilight princess then you are differentiating him from the crowd.

Sounds like dandrew has got his Links in order. JK JK! I know what you're saying. Jack, I think that you should apply for a lead story design @ Nintendo. I think that you're short story started out good, but got a little violent in the end. LOL. Kill a guy infront of his family? I am dieing for a mature Zelda game though. I am pretty sure that Nintendo will announce one.

Link is only in two games, Ocarina and Majora. The rest are just different heroes.

A M rated Zelda would be fantastic, but since it will never happen. I'll take full voice acting for everyone but "Link" please.

I realize that who we call link is usually just 'The Hero of Time' but my intent that this hero not be the hero of time, that he does not have his fate already prophesied, that way it is in the player's hands. As far as killing the villain in front of his family, that would be so that no outcome leaves you feeling as if you have accomplished something 'good' by seeking revenge, I think it would be a nice twist.
