Re:The Dark Knight Impressions 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
Thinking more about the movie, I'm finding an interesting thing out.

Everytime I think about the movie, I'm more thinking about Harvey Dent. This man was the heart and soul of the movie. A lot of people are talking about Heath Ledger, but I think Aaron Eckhart is the one deserving the acclaim. Even when he undergoes his "corruption," he's never truly a villain to me.

This is a character who has lost his way, and even in the end, he is not sociopathic. He is still fighting what he feels is the good fight. This is a man who had everything taken from him, going after the only justice he can comprehend at that point. More than anything, he becomes a true antihero. I sympathize with him completely, but I don't agree with his methods. And even in death, he is remembered for the good he did, and the kindness in his heart that even Gordon and Batman could still see in him, despite the desperation of his actions.

This was my top performance in the film and the one I hope the academy remebers in February.

Got to see The Dark Knight last night and I was blown away.

Batman is played with brooding intensity by Christian Bale, while The Joker is reinvented by the late Heath Ledger as a twitching, evil psychopath smothered in gruesome, smeared make-up.

Well done to everyone connected to the film and good luck to them if/when they make the third film (I hope they do)

The Dark Knight was sooooooooo good, I've seen it 4 times!! Chris Nolan totally hit the nail on the head with this movie.

I can't get enough of this movie. I saw it again over the weekend. This is a bold statment, but I definitely rank The Dark Knight up there with Apocalypse Now and The Godfather (2 of my favorite movies).

I really love the nod to Brother Eye in the movie. It was a great addition to the movie considering the now postponed JLA movie which was supposedly going be about OMAC.

there are rumors about that Johnny Depp to be The Riddler.

Before we get into the whole joker vs riddler deal, i want to know why people are already speculating on the 3rd movie when (im assuming) that Nolan has not even agreed to it yet.

Nolan has not, but Bale is already under contract for a third movie. Given the typical movie studio state of mind, even if Nolan doesn't agree to do a third movie it is hard to believe that a third movie will not be made. It would be a bad decision on my part, but I think the studio would make it. What they should do is give Nolan whatever he wants money wise and creative control wise. Both I think are likely now. The questio is whether they will give him the time to craft a good story.

Depp could potentially be a good villain in the series (Riddler or otherwise). I've also read that there are rumors of Philip Seymour Hoffman playing the Penguin. I think the right actor will be very dependent on the screenplay and the way the villain is portrayed.

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I THINK THE STUDIO WILL MAKE A THIRD NO MATTER WHAT. THEY CANT RESIST A CHANCE TO MAKE MONEY. EVEN IF THE MOVIE WAS HORRIBLE ENOUGH PEOPLE WOULD SEE IT TO MAKE A GOOD PROFIT AND THE STUDIO KNOWS IT
