My friend and I are playing Gears of War again in preparation for Gears 2. Last night, we decided to play through in the "hardcore" difficulty and, at the end of act 1, we get the berserker all the way out into the courtyard but the Hammer of Dawn won't work. We've tried it at least ten times until the time runs out and we die. We don't know what we're doing wrong. We've each done this in the past at least a dozen times. Is there something wrong with the game or with new updates?

The game could have just glitched in that instance and needed to be reloaded, or you could have just plain been doing it wrong.

Don't really know but I'd try again after having exited the game or something. *shrugs shoulders*

Make sure you're not trying to use the Hammer of Dawn in closed corners. Look up and make sure you can see the sky. I haven't played the game in awhile, but I think the weapon is has to send a signal to a satellite.
