What's shakin? Fester, we tried the demo last night for that airplane arcade game, hey...that was fun! Might have to get that. Did you buy it?

And Van played the demo for Civ:Revolution and loved it...he's already planning on heading up to town today to go get himself a copy of that. It is a super fun game....I loved playing that on computer.

I'm going into town to pick up a points card so I'll most likely buy the arcade game. That one brings back some memories. I used to have an NES with a cartridge with like 52 games on it and 1942 was one of them. If Van picks up Civ Mongo should now have a worthy adversary. I've yet to play the full demo.

Just talked to him on the phone. He sold Conan (finished that last night on Hard) and traded it in for Civ:Rev.

I was thinking about Civ: Rev but I heard that you cannot save your MP games, which means that most of them don't get finished because they take so long. It's hard enough to keep people seated through an entire round of Catan (which only takes 30-45 minutes). If I bought Civ: Rev and could never properly finished an MP game, I'd be pissed.

When did you buy CivRev, Mongo? Already almost 1000 points? Sweet! Does it give away points like a hemoraging pinata, or are you just that awesome?

I just bought Civ Rev today (perfect for the OCD in all of us) after playing the demo and some MS points for 1942. I have to keep what credit I have for all the other great games coming out. September can't be here soon enough (makes lightsaber sounds).

I got Civ about a two weeks ago. the cheevos don't flow like a stuck pinata, but close. I think I got like 65 points/11 achievements on the first "playthrough".

Helpful hint 1: play all the races on easy first. They're 15GS per race victory (i.e. win(domination/cultural/Technological/ecomically) as the romans: 15GS.)

Helpful hint 2: If you're well on to your way to a Domination victory, Save before you destroy the last capital. You can then use that save game as a launch point for the other victory types.

What am I doing on my day off? Let's see. I slept till 11. Had breakfast. Worked outside for a while. Came in. Had a shower. I'm now making coffee. That's about it.

I have an exam tomorrow, so I have to study a bit yet. Other than that, I don't have much to do. I've been meaning to dive into the films of Carl Theodor Dreyer. I really want to watch The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928) and Vampyr (1932) so I might start that today yet. Or maybe on the weekend.

Are you looking forward to The Force Unleashed, or are you just happy to see me? Wait, that is insulting to me both of us.

Man, my head hurts. I hate being sick. I hate having to work when I feel lousy. I hate stupid coworkers acting like dicks although I like the fact I can tell them to fuck off when they want stuff to run tonight during CSI and I can just laugh at them. Yes, I'm queen of my tiny kingdom.

So, I just added Civ Rev to my Goozex requests list. Hey, if I don't like it I can just trade it away.

sorry to hear that your back under the weather, Nevis. How offen to you get 'requests' to run things during popular shows?

Its not the popularity of the show that matters its the fact that it's the DAY OF. Traffic runs one day ahead. Like today I'm working on TOMORROW. So we don't program show and/or commercial changes on the day that they air. I mean, we can, but it's a pain in the ass and officially we don't do it. But a big client complained and threatened to move all their stuff to a rival so of course we're jumping. Blerg!

Sounds like the same boat I'm in. Pun intended.

Well, If I get lucky I woun't have to deal with it for much longer. I'm waiting to see if I get an interview with the state for a job at my local college.

I know there are some people here who are more technically savvy than I, so I have a question for you guys. I'm getting a "ghosting" effect on my monitor: it's as if a much more transparent version of the screen's image has been laid atop and beside the original image so that they overlap a bit. It's especially noticeable when it comes to solid lines on a light background. Could this be caused by the KVM switch that I'm routing the video signal through? Is it signal interference? It's kind of annoying.

What's the haps everybody? I've been getting utterly destroyed at work, but just thought I'd pop my head in for a minute to say hi. What's new with you guys?
