In the episode that showed Ben's back-story there was a girl (Annie) that obviously liked him when he was younger. She gave him a wood carved version of herself and kept a wood carved version of him.
Later in the episode after Ben has grown up and does what Ben does, we do not see Annie nor are we told what happened to her. But I suspect the adult Annie is who Juliet looks like. I'm also anticipating another Ben back-story episode that makes the link explicit and tells us what became of Ben's first love.

Ok... Not many shows just make me stop and say WTF. But tonight's episode... Wow... Whats going on with that? Jin is "dead" in Sun's flash forward... But he is alive in the other....?

Tonights episode was lame, probably the worst out of all of them.
If you watch Jin's part again, there is a reference to the year of the dragon which was the year 2000. The plane crashed in 2004.
As for Ben, who says that he is telling the truth about Mr. Widmore?
Also, I believe that Ben will have a centric episode one of the first episodes after the break. There is a rumor going around that he was married to Annie and she died during childbirth.

But if you check out the headstone when Sun is at his "grave" It says he died in 2004. Why would they mix a flashback and flash forward together? That was teh suck, and confusing as hell.

Who said that Jin was dead? The date on the tombstone was indeed 2004 but if you look closer, it was the date that the plane crashed. We all know that Jin didn't die the day the plane crashed.

Because she is talking to Jin.... She says Jin I miss you so much, etc. She was speaking as if she was talking to Jin, and common sense would note that if she is standing in front of a grave talking to someone that isn't there. She is most likely talking to the person buried there.

In my opinion, it was an excellent episode. It had a twist (would have had two if the information that Michael was coming back hadn't be announced at last year's Comicon) that was not anticipated until just before it occurred.
It was a combined flashback and flash-forward. While Sun's was obviously a flashback, keep in mind they are never shown together. The only trick is that she is asking for him.
But in Jin's part at the hospital we learn he is working for Paik Automotive, Sun's father's company. He also tells the nurse he has only been married two months. His is a flashback.
As for the date on the tombstone, I suspect that the Oceanic 6 have told everyone else that no one else survived, or at least survived very long, after the crash. When Hurley gets his visit at the ward, he knows something is up when he's asked if there are still people on the island.
The question is the order of the flash-forward's. Right now I would suspect Kate's - Sun's - Hurley's - Sayid's - Jack's. Sayid's is the big question. It might be earlier or later. I think he's a candidate for the man in the coffin, which is why I put his before Jack's.

I didnt really like the episode as it showed nothing of my two favorite characters, Locke and Ben. I was as, TinPanAlley, very confused by the Flashback/forward mix up. At this point im not really interested with the flashbacks/forwards (except Desmonds crazy ones) or with the survivors on the beach. Im mostly interested in Lockes camp and of course what will become of Sayid and Desmond on the boat and why the people on the boat want Ben.
I do , however have a question. When the Captain tells Sayid and Desmond that Widmore planted the plane in the ocean, he says something like "where does someone get 314 bodies ?" as to where they got the fake bodies to put on the plane. Why would they want to find that out as he isnt working for Widmore ?
.......... or is he ?

imo it was a great episode...as for jin..he could be dead on the island or he could be alive on the island...we have no idea what happens to those left behind on the island yet...the fact that the date of death is the day the plane crashed, it makes it hard to believe that he came back as part of the oceanic 6 and was burried there..
another interesting thing that I thought got brought up is sun's babby really jin's. The baby is 8 wks old...the people on the island believe they have been there for more then 8 wks, which lead us to believe that the baby was concevied on the island. But if you look at the helicopter going back to the ship episode...they left the island and arrived at the ship that day and made the call...the islanders had thought it took 3 days to recevie the call. So in theory, while the people on the island have felt they have been there for 10++ (how ever many it is) weeks, the baby might have been conceived off island due to the time issues.

G7G: The captain indicated that he thought it was Ben that put the plane and the bodies at the bottom of the ocean. The flight recorder was the "evidence" of this as it would have been on the island where only Ben (not Widmore) could have gotten to it.
Of course, Sayid and Desmond have been told not to trust the captain. It is possible that it is not the flight recorder from the plane. Sayid and Desmond have no way of verifying to which plane this recorder belong. But it is almost certain that Michael/Kevin Johnson gave them this warning, and he's working for Ben. Both Ben and Widmore are manipulators, and neither can be trusted, so who knows which is the truth.
Furio: Sayid noted when they first arrived on the boat that by the calendar there it was close to Christmas, so they actually have been on the island for well over 8 weeks. But I agree it is possible that Jin is still on the island, though I would suspect if this were the case Sun would not have gone to the grave site. The previews for the coming week stated that someone was going to die. I think Jin and Claire are the leading candidates right now as it is hard for me to see either willingly staying on the island with Sun and Aaron getting off the island.

IMO jin will die...but I also see him sacrificing a spot on the plane for his wife...the ? would be why the heck jack, sayid, kate and hurly do get a golden tix off...but as was mentioned to me on another gaming site in a discussion, that is why we watch the show.

Good guess, someone will die tonight. Here are the 4 choices:
Claire
Michael
Karl
Miles
You might be surprised, you might not be surprised who dies and how it happens, this is LOST after all.

I hope it's not Claire. I want to see more about her being Jack's half-sister. Could her death be the reason Jack does not want to see Aaron?

Well the episodes are back in full swing. I've liked to two new ones so far.
I really enjoyed seeing Ben as an uber bad ass secret agent type in the first episode back. It was interesting. Ben virtually calling down the smoke monster on the mercs was awesome, but I was let down when they showed up this week a little beat up but no worse for the wear.
Why does Christian Shepard keep showing up?
