Well said Joe, Sounds like the reviewer would enjoy the Fifa experience better. This is the easiest Pro Evo That has been released.. You should try Pes5... Now that Is a Football Sim. - Eric Shaun 360

On a second note, the reason they make you watch the celebrations is because they have painstakingly recreated a lot of the more famous players trademark celebrations. I guess they didn't want you to miss out on them! It's daft though, I agree.

A good review overall and it is interesting to read a review from an American non football nut. To us hardcore footie fans the Pro Evo series is (almost always) considered the superior football title. But I suppose that is the problem, it is a little 'hardcore' in every sense. People that know these games would laugh at your appraisal of the controls but having tried to get casual gamer friends into playing this it is the first major hurdle and you are totally correct.

I think the game is so popular amongst it's hardcore fans that they don't feel the need to cater to the beginner player and you are immediately submersed into the myriad of menus and often bizarre tactical choices.

Basically what I have always said about football games is that if you want slick menus and hip soundtrack wrapped up in a well presented, easily digestible and fun game. Buy FIFA. If you find yourself hammering every team in FIFA on the highest level (like me) and want to get your hands dirty in some seriously tough and tactical football action, albeit it slightly confusing and badly presented at times, this is the game for you. - JoeSetsFire

Just a niggly note, the name never changed. The game is released under both names. Pro Evolution in Europe and Winning Eleven in Asia. I have a copy of this game out here (in Asia) and it is called World Soccer Winning Eleven 2008.

Confusing huh? - JoeSetsFire
