Review: Braid
The door is open, folks. The Kojimas and Eberts of the world must now pause slightly, or add an addendum, because there's no longer any reason to argue. We have a true mainstream piece of art disguised as a game sitting in the Xbox Arcade right now, and it's called... - Read the full review
We're talking about Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2, Braid, the Fable 2 Pub games released on the XBLA this week and Nelson gives us his first impressions of Too Human! We (or at least I) have a few regrets about some of my previoius comments regarding HDTV. And we reply to a question from Cheeser101 who asks us how we feel about parenting & videogames.
Nelson hit Comicon last week and tells us about the strange & wonderful things that went down in San Diego. We’re also talking about Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2, Braid, Bionic Commando, Galaga Legions & Castle Crashers! And we share your song list for Olivia Munn’s slow-jam mix.
We're talking about what went down behind the scenes at E3, including getting to interview the voice actors for Gears of War, Duffy - who will have a song in the upcoming Xbox 360 title, Lips and G4's Olivia Munn. Well, I'll let Nelson talk to you about that...
Alright, so if you've been tuning into the schnanagings of E3, then you know that Microsoft has announched a few things to look forward to this year. In this weeks (early) episode, we talk about Lips, We're in the Movies, Galaga Legions, the new Xbox Experience, Netflix hitting the Xbox Live Market Place (yay!) and Gears of War 2.
We're fashionably late!? Our recorder decided to play a funny game with us and did NOT record this week's episode. In fact, it only recorded 12 seconds of a 40 minute recording. Whack, right!? (and totally not funny)
We squeezed in a second recording, and in it we reflect on last year's E3 where Nelson pushed the "universal console" concept. We also talk about Schizoid - one of this week's XBLA title (and one of the best co-op XBLA arcade titles, IMO), Battlefield: Bad Company, and listener mail!
We're discussing Microsoft’s new DRM tool, advertisements in your entertainment and a real time strategy game that tickled Nelson's nerd-muscle (he has one). Games we talk about include Age of Empires III, Halo Wars, Soul Calibur and we share YOUR thoughts on discs vs. downloads.
Discs versus downloadable content? That's only one of many discussion topics today. We also talk about the rating for our podcast, Ticket to Ride - this weeks XBLA title, No Country for Old Men - a movie that's available on the Xbox Live Marketplace and listener mail!
We also include a time-sensitive contest! Tune in for the scoop...
Episodic content, revisiting some older-ish games and johnnies!
Today, we ask the question... is episodic content important? We also talk about last week's Xbox Live Arcade title, Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3, revisited a few old school games like Cloning Clyde & Scene It, and we top it all off with some listener mail.
We're talking about social networking over Facebook and twitter. We also give you our first impressions of The Bourne Conspiracy and Lego Indiana Jones - the games. We also downloaded Cloverfield (the movie) from the Xbox Live Marketplace.
Today we are talking about making games girlfriend-friendly, Ninja Gaiden II, Buku Sudoku and dirty bunnies on the Xbox Live Marketplace. We also answer questions regarding our show format, what you guys think of community vs. press and whether or not Gears of War is a Pick Up & Play type of game.
FYI - This episode includes a handful of words being "bleeped" out - I think we were influenced by Bronx Bunny.
Tune in! Listen to it now or grab the RSS feed. Enjoy!
In this week's episode, we talk about our perception of what's considered "gaming community" and what's considered "press".
We also discuss whether or not Gears of War can be considered an easy to pick up & play game, Frontlines: Fuel of War, and Xbox Live Arcade title Assault Heroes 2. Last but not least, we answer listener mail.
Ok, I'm not sure what we were thinking when we decided to move again. Yup, that's two moves in the course of 6 months - wtf!?!?!
Somewhere in our new apartment hides a box including our recording equiptment. We hope to uncover the box this week and will be back in effect next week!
