Say it ain't so...a Holiday without a new Tony Hawk installment gracing all gaming platforms? What's the world coming to, this is madness. Seems that might be the case, though, as Activision revealed during their earnings call yesterday that the Tony Hawk series will be skipping the console realm for this year.
Instead, Michael Griffith, Activision's publishing president, revealed that the next skating title in the long-running (and rather stale) series will be returning in fiscal 2010 (April 2009 onward) with a product that will
reinvent Tony Hawk from the ground up...This title will have two years in development to deliver the kind of breakthrough that the franchise needs.
Hmm, kinda lik EA's Skate did last year? Fear not, though, as Tony Hawk junkies will still get their fix with an exclusive DS iteration of the series, hitting this Fall that will
utilize new technology not yet seen on the DS.
Maybe Activision's non-official E3 event will let us get our hands on this new, portable skate simulator.
