So it's official now. Guitar Hero 4, due out this Fall, will feature the addition of drums, bass and vocals. it's a totally new take on the music game genre that hasn't been attempted before, so it should sell like hotcakes, right? Well, it might just convince a few people who were burned by Harmonix's initially faulty hardware to switch over, as now we know what Activision is offering.
Out of next month's Game Informer (which has Guitar Hero 4 as a cover story....oh, isn't that cover image nice? Totally original), the first ever shot of the game's upcoming drum kit is pictured, and it has a "I'm a direct rip-off of something, but 100 times better" look to it. Gone are the four drum pads from Rock Band, in favor of 3 centrally positioned ones, a two offset cymbals. Looks good. The $64,000 question is: can THIS withstand my 9-hour drumming marathons? Game Informer notes this a "sturdier" device...so we'll see. Full size image after the jump.
