To start off, let's all let out a collective "AHAHAHA" at the thought of Alan Wake actually ever coming out. There, feel better? Apparently, the folks at Remedy Games are getting tired of that attitude towards their "psychological survival horror" title themselves, as they've made an huge announcement. Well, huge for them anyway. According to a non-Remedy employed Super Mod at the game's official forums:
Patience. The media "blackout" won't continue for too much longer.
Well, how vague. We've been on blackout for what, 3 years now? Obviously unless this Super Mod is just making a blanket statement to calm the forum waters, they have to be referring to E3 in July. Potential Microsoft press briefing show stopper? Alan Wake was one of the very first Xbox 360 titles ever shown and announced almost 4 years ago, and it's become the 360's Duke Nukem Forever in the process.
Now slated for release on both Xbox 360 and Games for Windows, will it ever come out? For god's sake I hope so, as it was recently "confirmed" that the 2008 ship date wasn't actually "confirmed". I have faith in you Remedy. Very little, but it's there somewhere. I know we're all looking forward to any new information on the game that we can get. Here's to the bright side of Bright Falls.
[Updated]: As stated above, the non-Remedy employee was basically just making a general claim. "I do not know when the blackout will end ... When we hear anything from
Remedy or Microsoft regarding any kind of new information, we will post
it loud and clear. There are no tricks up our sleeves at the moment." Fail.
