Last month, word broke that Japan would be getting themselves a super special "steel" Metal Gear Solid 4-branded PlayStation 3 bundle, in honor of the game's release. North America was curiously left out of the loop, with no word on if the package would make it stateside.

Not so! Konami confirmed today that the new "gunmetal grey" PS3 SKU will indeed be seeing release in the U.S., and that it will be a "very, very Limited Edition bundle". Get those pre-orders in...now. There is no word at this time on what model is included (likely the 40GB), or if the new DualShock 3 is in the box (likely so, since MGS4 has been developed specifically for it). In Japan the bundle is retailing for ¥51,800, which is roughly U.S.$534. This Summer is looking like a great time for fans of game specific bundles, isn't it?

This is the worst limited edition "anything" i've ever seen. I prefer my plain old black ps3 to this one. c'mon Konami, atleast you could have put a small design on it somewhere. But what do you expect from a company that is going to charge $85 for a special edition of MGS4 that comes with a "making of" *yawn* and a "soundtrack CD" *big yaaawwwn*
