Well folks, another Talking About Games contest has come to a close. Some readers will laugh, others will cry, and there's a good chance some name-calling may ensue.

Nah, not in this community, right? We'd like to take this moment to congratulate the three winners in our Space Invaders Extreme giveaway; renz2001, ryanj81592, and Tonnous24 were all lucky enough to snag one our our download codes in last week's contest. The winners can find their prizes in their private message inboxes on our forums.

But alas, many entrants were not so fortunate. But don't fret, as TAG has many contests coming up in the near future. Just think of it this way: Not winning today means it will make your future victories that much sweeter. So as always, keep an eye out for future contests. You never know when we might surprise you.

Let's face it, we all have fond memories of the games of yesteryear. No matter your age, you're bound to be nostalgic for the experiences that brought you into the fold of gaming. For some of us, these memories extend back to the days of the Atari 2600 and the Magnavox Odyssey. For others, the pilgrimage into geekhood began much later. But no matter the starting point, these affairs had a profound impact on the gamers we are today.

Naturally, developers and publishers see an opportunity for profit in this market. Remaking classic titles has been a popular act in the industry, especially in recent years. One such example of this practice is Space Invaders Extreme, a reimagining of the classic game originally released in 1978. Folks who have played the original can undoubtedly tell stories of the endless stream of quarters they fed into arcade kiosks. Now, these gamers have a chance to relive this experience, for a far lower price. And for those who, for whatever reason, never played the original, now is a great time to get started.

Talking About Games is giving away three download codes for Space Invaders Extreme on the Xbox LIVE Arcade. To enter, just leave a comment on this article telling us about your fondest retro gaming memory. Was it the hours spent slaving away to achieve the highest Pac-Man score at your local arcade? Or was it the vast number of controllers you broke while playing the original Bionic Commando? No matter the story, we want to hear it.

We will accept entries until 6:00pm Pacific Time on Friday, June 26th. At that point, we'll randomly select three lucky readers, who will receive their download code via private message on our forums. As always, you can check out our contest rules here.

Good luck!

As the weekend draws to a close and another work week kicks into high gear, it's very easy to be overcome by a case of "The Mondays." However, there are two members of the Talking About Games community who will be able to smile a little bit more this week. Today, pray4par and isaacthejust were lucky enough to be chosen in our random drawing to receive download codes for Broken Steel, the latest bit of downloadable content for Fallout 3. The fortuitous entrants can check their private messages on our forums to receive their prizes.

If, by chance, you weren't lucky enough to win this time around, don't lose any sleep over it. We'll have plenty of opportunities for you to test your good fortune in future contests on the site. So keep an eye out for upcoming giveaways; you never know what we'll get our hands on next.

Usually, we like to mention our contest winners by name, but given the nature of our Uncharted 2 multiplayer beta contest, we'd be here a while trying to copy and paste all those names.  And that's precious time we could be using to send out those beta codes to our winners!

So instead, we'll just congratulate everyone that entered the contest.  If you left us a comment on the post, you're getting a free multiplayer beta code for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, courtesy of Sony and GameTrailers.

We'll be sending out codes all morning All of the codes have been sent out via Private Messages in our forums, and we'd like to thank everyone again for their participation.  If you forgot to enter, don't fret... we'll be giving away codes on Facebook and Twitter later this week.

When we said we were coming at you with guns blazing this week, to bring you a bang-up list of E3 coverage... we meant it.

We are giving away SEVENTY multiplayer beta codes for Uncharted 2: Drake's Fortune.  Yes, that's a 7 with a 0 after it.  Courtesy of Sony and GameTrailers, we want to give you a chance to play through the multiplayer experience of the newest game from Naughty Dog, and we're going to get it to you as quickly as we can.

To enter, leave a comment on this post telling us what you love about Talking About Games, whether it's the podcasts, the videos, the news coverage, the forums, the game nights... just leave us a post telling us what you enjoy.   On Saturday June 6th, at 12pm Pacific, we'll draw 70 random entries from the bunch and send them multiplayer beta codes via our forums.

The codes are locked to the U.S. unfortunately, which means we're limiting this to just users within the States (don't blame us, it's not our fault!).  And of course, you'll need to be at least 17 years or older in order to enter.  Good luck!

Talking About Games wants to congratulate jkrieg21 on his new found glory.  He was randomly selected this morning in our Gears of War 2 respawn giveaway, and is getting a brand new copy of Epic's third person shooter sent his way.  Congratulations, jkrieg!  You should check your PM mailbox in the forums for more details.

And if you didn't win, be sure and keep checking back. Our contests tend to come fast and furious around here, and you never know what's going to pop up.

Win Gears of War 2 for the Xbox 360! PDF Print E-mail

There are sad things in this world.  Take, for instance, the copy of Gears of War 2 we have lying around the TAG offices right now.  Given away to a lucky member back at the end of 2008, it sat on our shelves for months because the winner never returned our PM's.  It would just look at us.  Sitting there.  All alone, with no one to love it.  The big, puppy dog eyes of Marcus Fenix filling up with tears as it realized that it was alone.  Totally and utterly alone.

And now, as we're finally getting around to our spring cleaning, we want to find a home for this poor, unfortunate game.  Some place with a big back yard, where it can run free and play with other games.

So, to win, you have to tell us why you haven't picked up Gears of War 2 yet.  We don't care if you're cheap, or biased against Marcus Fenix, or just bought an Xbox 360.  We want to know what's made you avoid picking up one of the better third person shooters from 2008.  Leave us a comment on this article and let us know why your gaming collection has this gaping hole to fill.

You've only got until Friday, May 8th at 2pm Pacific time.  After that, we'll send you a PM (which you'll hopefully return) and we'll have your game in the mail to you.  You'll want to be a resident of the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec) in order to enter, and we'd recommend checking out our contest rules.  Invalid entries could leave this game an orphan, with no one to love it.

Good luck!

...and if you've got them handy, we'd like to encourage BrotherJohn and morenachos to pick up a... uhm... broadsword and perhaps some mithril undergarments.  You'll soon be scouting around the virtual world of Guild Wars, because each of you just picked up a brand new copy of the Game of the Year edition, courtesy of NCsoft, in our Guild Wars Anniversary giveaway.  Congratulations!

Now then, let's see what other sorts of swag we have lying around the TAG offices...

Mongo, wiibien, and Scotrun, grab your capes and tights.  Each of you was just selected as a winner in our City of Heroes giveaway, and the three of you just picked up a brand new copy of the Architect Edition of City of Heroes, courtesy of NCsoft.  You'll need those capes and tights for your secret identities, which will almost certainly involved mild-mannered reporting at a local newspaper, or running as a freelance photographer for another newspaper.

You can check your forum mailboxes for more information.

We'd like to congratulate the winners, and wish the rest of you the best of luck with our upcoming contests.
